It doesn't render sandstone

. That's why you cant see my name in the isometric view.
Also, the big gaping hole near the center is the aftermath of the TNT party.

- Furious you are now banned from my server forever
- My minecraft server used to use around 30-100MB of memory before Furious laid down many, many tnt blocks
- My minecraft server now is using 800MB of memory after Furious's tnt blocks exploded
- Let me know in advance if you plan on joining the minecraft server due to this massive increase in memory usage due to Furious (who is now banned) stupidity so I can see if more than one person can play at a time
- If you are wondering exactly what happened this a picture of some of the aftermath of Furious's actions: http://www.2shared.com/photo/ZOqh6vqE/ihateyoufurious.html, click on the picture to make it larger
Yes the one thing I set out to do on that day
Also, some interesting dialog before the big bang
Furious: Al I may have laid some TnT blocks
Furious: Maybe about 2000
Furious: You want to blow it up?
Al: Will it hurt my tunnel
Furious: Maybe its alot of explosives, maybe we should just not blow it up
Al: Can we just blow up something up already
Furious: Well if you want to you can do it
Al: 4.3.2.1.0
*EPIC FAIL OF SERVER*

Monsters are now turned on!
Note: Since monsters are turned on you do not regenerate health so be careful

Luckily I have caches of torches around the map, and have started a couple farms to grow wheat for bread. I think our first items of business will be to cover the main area in light.

We're now playing on my server, which has all of Al's stuff transferred over. Somewhat less lag!

2-Player Productions has created a 20 minute short for the potential full documentary of Minecraft that when up yesterday.
You can find the documentary here If you like the 20 minute short and would like to donate to their kickstarter to help fund the potential full documentary you can go
here. I watched it last night and the short they have so far created is pretty cool so go watch it.

I'm tired of seeing this in the server log all day:
[INFO] kftorry issued server command: give kftorry 46 64
That's furious, giving himself TNT. All the time. Every day.

i'm using the lazy dig method of blowing things up

The server is now using a whitelist. If you're new or you want your friends to join, let me or any op/admin know, and we can add you/them to the whitelist.
So far, the whitelist is:
monikerepsilon
aeflash (earl)
gelatinguy
chuuuuw
kftorry (furious)
alfire101
rob2t3s (th1zz)
slipdisco
orikoren (cobra)
trentnes (my friend, not RH)
I probably forgot someone, so let someone know and they can use the command to add: whitelist add <name>

I just added RAF66 (aka Joker) to the whitelist. At this rate we just might need a subsection of the forums devoted solely to minecraft

So I'm going back and forth about whether I should buy Minecraft (I'm sure you all will be more than happy to tell me why I should.

)
I'm curious what hardware is actually hosting the server you guys play on? I've got a dual-core system at home with 4 gigs of ram that's basically just a dedicated file server for my home - and my external IP hasn't change in the past 4 years with Comcast - so I would be up for hosting a server if I find myself as addicted as you all are.

Who buried all the freakin' pig spawners around the spawn point? Trying to lay a railway here....
Wed Mar 30, 2011 3:04 pm
Desert, I run the server on my main computer, which is not a dedicated server, but it handles it fine. It's got an Intel Core i7 920 (quad core), and 6GB of RAM. If you could host, that would probably work out since I plan to move soon anyway (which would change my IP), and I host other instanced games. When I connect to Mumble, Earl has stated a few seconds of lag in Minecraft, where a freshly destroyed block reappears once or twice. Other responsibilities of hosting a server: making back ups of the map, and rendering out a visual representation of the map every so often (I optimize the image so the file size is much smaller).
Earl, I think Al put those pig spawners up, but maybe it was someone else. I do know Al was bragging about his spawners at one point...
Server was backed up today, along with a new map. Remember to click the magnifying glass to the upper right to get the full view.
