But Stocker and Witterick's choices haven't always made life easy for their kids. Though Jazz likes dressing as a girl, he doesn't seem to want to be mistaken for one. He recently asked his mother to let the leaders of a nature center know that he's a boy. And he chose not to attend a conventional school because of the questions about his gender. Asked whether that upsets him, Jazz nodded.

instead of pretending the child has no gender they should be lauding both genders as equal and wonderful. To raise a child based on a book of fiction or some sketchy research is irresponsible and just plain stupid. Wonder what caused the gender issues with one of their other sons. Maybe mom was once again disappointed in not having a daughter? I wasn't a perfect parent, but at least I knew to teach my children to love themselves for what they are. I wouldn't want to live in a future where we hid what and who we are from others. We need to teach children pride and self-determination and not encourage ambiguity.

/sigh the book is not the point.

I think both parents should be given competency tests and upon failing, should be told that their children will be taken from them and raised in such a way as NOT to be screwed up dumb-asses as they already are.
