Yes, aware it started, but haven't watched it yet .. it's on the DVR though. Still no comparison to UK version, but better than many other things on TV.

It is actually episode 9 of season two. For some reason they just had a million year break between the first half and the second half of season two. As well, the first two episodes of this season were filmed for the first half of season two, but History wanted a 16 episode season instead of the original 10. So they took those last two episodes and putting them on this half of the season.

Here is where I learned this for better or worse:

Episode 6 is an very good all-around episode .. especially if you are into historic cars and planes, or have lots of time in a convertible in your past.

Key Quotes from the article :

Airing immediately before the premiere of season 2 of Crash Course, Richard will be hosting part one of a two-part Top Gear special – Top Gear Top Fails – which will showcase some of the show’s most epic disasters and crashes. “What could possibly go wrong?” asks Richard. Part one of Top Fails will air at 9p/8c on Oct. 22; part two will air on Oct. 29. They’ll be followed, on successive Mondays, by four all-new Top Gear specials.

Top Gear Thursday: Mark Your Calendars for February 4
By staff | Posted on Thursday, January 24th, 2013

Season 19…soon
We told you that Season 19 was coming. Now we can tell you when it’s coming:

Monday, February 4.

It’s the first time that a Top Gear series is scheduled to air in the U.S. just days after it shows in the U.K., where it begins on January 27. So get prepared for a trip to our continent that includes some quality time in Vegas (no way the boys could get in any trouble there, surely?), a race against fighter planes and a dramatic Mexican border chase. Also, our favorite British petrolheads will be heading to Africa, ostensibly to find the source of the Nile. And don’t forget a whole new season of Stars in Reasonably Priced Cars.

Here’s the BBC trailer for the new season:

The premiere episode, says the BBC, will consist of: Jeremy Clarkson building a car that’s even smaller than the famous Peel P50, James May testing the latest Bentley Continental GT Speed and Richard Hammond taking a spin in the Pagani Huayra hypercar. (The Hamster then gives The Stig a crack at it.) And the premiere’s Star in a Reasonably Price Car is Homeland Golden Globe winner Damian Lewis.

The fun starts Monday, February 4, 9/8c.
