oh dear it seems im a broken record, but wow what an easy case that would be :D

---

seriously though, I always assumed marketing was useless in the whole coke v. pepsi debate, you either liked one or the other or both and didn't care. Is it possible these commercials may reap coke some dividends?

...and isn't that just a bit more than a little sad? This vid, filmed in Argentina, showed how cool something like this would be...yet in this country, we KNOW that someone would fall, intentionally or not, and claim a multi-million dollar lawsuit and probably win. IMO, Lawyer Lottery is too often played in this country.

*shrug* Jinxter. I know that's the perception, I doubt it's the reality. When the only news coverage are these cases, no one sees the millions of cases that get thrown out.

I will agree with you on the perception, and would also like to point out the fact that perception IS reality.

Is anyone else bothered that Coke is marketing their shitty sugar bottles to kids by creating interactive activities centered around their product? Or have I been watching too much Bill Hicks standup?

Oh, and Coke > Pepsi any day of the week ;)

How to make Pepsi...

Take a Coca-Cola and open the can. Let the can sit out for an entire 24 hour period. Add Ice, ~ 3 cubes allow it to melt completely. Set back out in the sun, enough to warm it. Add 2 heaping tablespoons of table sugar. Then refrigerate it...serve to Pepsi fan. They will never know...

...side note...I picked Coke, 4 times while during the Pepsi Challenge at the Ala Moana Mall in Hawaii in 1976...each time I picked Coke as tasting better I could hear the director yelling "CUT!" In my class, (we actually had a field trip to do this) only 3 kids (out of 19) picked Pepsi...and one of them ended up in the commercial shown on TV. If they had only asked me which one tasted like watered down/sweetened Coke...I would have picked the 'right' one.

this + one of the legitimate purpose of such lawsuits is to deter entities from being negligent.

Although I recently worked on a case where a plaintiff was suing walmart, because (long complicated diagram--->two sentences) a walmart truck SHOULD HAVE (not really) moved onto the shoulder of a highway after it merged legally onto the highway, but the car next to it negligently and recklessly and illegally merged parallel to the walmart truck and merged directly into the number 2 lane right in front of an SUV full of kids.

Now I am no fan of walmart, but it was the most crap case ever, and if they jury did come back with a verdict against walmart, the judge would have likely overturned it anyway (although when the jury was polled every college student and minority voted against walmart, sigh @ my peers)

Basically, crackpot solo individuals getting attorneys to represent them on contingency almost always lose, as any legitimate or semi-legitimate claim will be settled by the corporation ASAP.

Also, make sure you have the highest coverage for your car, trust me on this one (can't hijack thread further)
