Okay, got a nice Propane gas BBQ range. The home we bought and just moved into is plumbed such that there is a Natural Gas (NG) line on the deck for the BBQ. I am sure there is some costs in switching over .. but does anyone know the process already ?
Any noticeable difference between the two ? Opinions one way or the other ? I know nothing of NG BBQ'ing.

Natural Gas Imho
Cheaper (once you are set up) Safer Never run out of fuel (uses house supply) No difference in flavor
-edit-
you will likely need a conversion unit for NG, check your grill model in google

A couple of questions:
Would you be using a portable LP tank or is the house plumbed for LP also?
is the BBQ built in or a portable unit? ---if portable unit, do you plan to use it away from home?

if plumbed, NG is cheaper to run than LP.
The conversion is specific to the BBQ. the hook up is standard but the output valve (jet) will need to be changed. Parts about $15-30. Check your manual pack, some come with one, but most people toss them because they don't know what its for.
as far as what cooks better: about the same. LP cooks hotter, so you use a little less to accomplish the same task. NG cost much less.
If you do not plan to move the bbq, then I would hook it up to the NG.

House is already plumbed for NG .. has a outlet already sitting there on the deck for use.
BBQ is a portable and uses a Propane tank.
Do not plan on moving the BBQ around.
Biggest Issue: In current state, whenever done and after the BBQ cools down, I turn the propane tank off at the hose connection to the tank and put a nice cover over it ... trying to avoid having one of my kids turn it on without lighting it and leaving it running.
I want the safest possible setup ... I could go turn off the NG branch headed to the tank where it branches from the main house supply since it is around the side of the house away from the BBQ. I would likely feel the need to insert another valve between there and where it enters the BBQ as the connection on the deck is just a simple push on connector like for an air-compressor .. with no valve. The baby (20 months) likes to play with knobs .. so we also worry about the gas stove in the house as he already tries to turn those.

A charcoal chimney helps with that a lot. But yeah, I wouldn't want to use Propane/NG because of the wet heat. I didn't word my comment well, I meant between propane and NG I doubt you'd see any difference in cooking. There is definitely a difference with charcoal.
